PolitiCalendar.com is Live!

For the last year, I have been working with a group to create a new website, www.politicalendar.com. This site is designed to be a universal calendar for all political events. It is completely nonpartisan and designed so that the users create the content.

Here are some of the features:

  • Allows anyone organizing an event to create a webpage that will display details about the events, such as time, place, location, contribution levels, etc. The event webpage can be linked to a campaign website, an event flyer and all social media.
  • Allows a user to automatically add the event to his/her Outlook calendar and RSVP by e-mail.
  • If the event organizer changes the time or location of the event, the system automatically notifies everyone who has RSVPed by email.
  • Allows contributions to be collected on-line.
  • A date search feature that allows an event organizer to see other events that have already been scheduled on a prospective date.
  • In addition to events, a user can create a "Sponsor" page for organizations such as campaigns, political parties and political clubs and link its events to its Sponsor page.
  • Allows users to create a public profile to connect with other "politicos."
Most of you know that I have spent a good part of my career attending these kinds of political events. I have always thought we needed an internet site that would serve as a clearinghouse for all political events. That is exactly what we have created with Politicalendar.

Here is the best part. It is free. The only charges for using the site are if a user wants to advertise or collect donations on-line. All other functions can be used simply by registering.

I hope you all will give Politicalendar a try and let me know what you think.
