After watching the national embarrassment of our President and Speaker of the House behave like five-year-olds before the world this week, I was reminded of this famous quote from John Adams on his fears over what a two-party system would mean for the country. Interestingly most of the Founders have similar views . [Click here for other Founders’ quotes on political parties]. Having no political parties is a utopia that can probably never exist. But the asinine level of partisanship today is beginning to do real damage to our republic.
